Bioart, participatory practices, research
Marina Remova is a multidisciplinary artist developing a research-based practice at the intersection of bioart, ecology and participatory approaches. Working with mycelium and other living processes, she explores alternative models of co-creation, reciprocity and collaboration between human and non-human agents.
She is interested in processes of transformation, changeability and decay, and in how these processes can become active elements of artistic and design practice.
Her current research is expanding towards cycle-oriented design: an approach that considers the full life of an object, from the idea through its appearance, transformation and possible decay to afterlife. She investigates how changeability of artworks could challenge conventional assumptions about permanence, consumption and value.
